I am guessing that the query doesn't break so much as that it calculates incorrectly when the field shows 22mt ? Because once the system calls it mt, the actual value in the weight field becomes 22

So you would have to go for the switch solution.

Now the challenge is that the weight UoM is represented in the database as an integer, and OITM actually has 4 different weight fields and 4 different corresponding UoM fields. First you need to test which database field holds the weight value 22, and then get number from the corresponding UoM field.
