Re: Plant and company code assignment in Ecc 6.0

Hi there!

I'm new here, but your answear makes a lot of sense to me.

Quote:

"A distribution chain can be active for several plants and the plants can be assigned to different

company codes. If the sales organization and plant are assigned to different company codes, an

internal billing document is sent between the company codes before the sales transactions are

entered for accounting purposes."

So it should be possible to assign a plant to more than one company codes.

Otherwise, it would not be possible to perform a Cross Company Sales, neither you would be able to carry out with the material's availability check for this secondary plant, right?

Let me see if I got it and lets go a little further.

Company code 1 has Plant A assigned to it and a Sales Org. A1 uniquely assigned to CC1.

( CC1 <=> Plant A<=> Sales Org. A1 )

In order to perform a Cross Company Sale, you must be able to check the availability of a material that belongs to CC2 (for example) and that is stored at Plant B.

Meanwhile, Plant B would have to be assigned to CC2 and CC1.

( CC2 <=> Plant B<=>CC1<=> Sales Org. A1 <=> You )

So far so good. However, sales organization A1 (cc1) where you are, can only be assigned one CC.

Considering this fact, is it the case that Sales Org. A1 can only visualize the Plant B stock's, but the sale itself would have to be fowarded to Sales Org. B2, that belongs to CC2?

If so, the customer's master data that belongs to Sales Org. A1 would have to be copyed to S.Org. B1 (I suppose).

Sorry but it's kind of confusing isn't it?

Best regards

Fernando
