I have a report that lists out total quantity and value of inventory. I had trouble displaying properly without duplicates so I had to create several formulas in order to sum the proper number. These formulas were:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar qty := qty + {Items.QuantityonHand};
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar qty;
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar qty := 0;
I also have the same set of formulas that total the value rather than quantity. The formula that actually displays the sum is the second one I listed and is inserted as the Group 1 Footer. I want to make a chart that displays the proper sums and since that formula is the only way I can get the proper total, I wanted to base the graph on that formula. However, when I am in the Chart Expert, it doesn't give me these formulas as an option.
I saw somewhere that you can't make charts based on "whileprintingrecords" formulas so if that is true, how can i bypass this or get a formula that will provide the same sums in the chart?
