there is one more option. I see you are using SAP HANA Cloud Platform SDK for Java EE 6 Web Profile. If you do not need explicitly that SDK you can use SAP HANA Cloud Platform SDK for Java Web. Then you need dependency only to log4j and then your application does not need to pack anything as in the other SDK already contains log4j.
If you need the Java EE 6 can you PM me the account and application name so we can have a look also why the classloader does not take the jar from your lib folder but the one from the runtime.
